Finding Your Voice Workshop Series: The Story You're Still Writing

"Your story is something you continue to write—one breath, one movement, one word at a time."
Have you ever looked back on your life and realized that certain moments seemed to define you?
A difficult diagnosis.
A painful relationship.
The loss of someone you loved.
A career that no longer fit.
A season of burnout.
A mistake you wish you could rewrite.
We all have chapters we'd rather skip. But what if those chapters aren't the whole story?
What if they simply helped shape the person you're still becoming?
Every Person Has Chapters
As a writer, I've always been fascinated by stories—not just the ones we read, but the ones we tell ourselves.
Some chapters are joyful.
Some are heartbreaking.
Some remain unfinished.
Some are rewritten many times before we finally understand them.
The same is true of our lives. Yet we often become so attached to one difficult chapter that we begin to mistake it for the entire book.
"I am anxious."
"I am a cancer survivor."
"I am divorced."
"I am too old."
"I am not enough."
These may describe experiences we've lived through, but they are not the entirety of who we are. One of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves is the opportunity to step back and read our own story with curiosity instead of criticism.

Your Breath Tells a Story
Most of us move through our days without paying much attention to our breath. Yet our breath reflects our inner world.
When we're anxious, it becomes shallow.
When we're overwhelmed, we hold it.
When we're calm, it softens.
The Stories We Inherit
Many of the beliefs we carry were never consciously chosen.
Perhaps you grew up believing your worth was measured by achievement.
Maybe you learned to put everyone else's needs before your own.
Perhaps you became the peacemaker, the perfectionist, the caregiver, or the strong one.
Those stories often become invisible because we've lived them for so long.
One of our first writing prompts asks a simple question:
Have you ever felt boxed in?
Who built the box?
Was it someone else?
Most importantly...
What part of you has been asking to be set free?
Sometimes We Need to Move Our Bodies Before We Can Move Forward
Healing doesn't happen only through thinking. It also happens through the body.
Movement allows us to explore new possibilities in ways words sometimes cannot.
Through yoga-inspired movement, we'll literally practice creating new perspectives.
Standing in our truth.
Remaining open.
Making space.
Breaking familiar patterns.
Our bodies often discover freedom before our minds believe it's possible.
The Story You're Writing Now
Our workshop begins by looking back. But it doesn't stay there. Because the most important chapter isn't yesterday. It's today. On our second day, we'll ask different questions.
Who are you today?
What do you value?
What are you learning?
What are you ready to release?
What are you becoming?
Participants finish one simple sentence:
Today, I am becoming...
Sometimes one sentence is enough to begin a new chapter.
Finding Your Voice
Finding your voice isn't about becoming louder. It isn't about having all the answers. It's about becoming honest. Honest about who you've been. Honest about who you are. And hopeful about who you're becoming.
Your voice has been with you all along. Sometimes it simply gets buried beneath expectations, fear, busyness, and old stories. This workshop is an invitation to uncover it again.
Through breath.
Through movement.
Through therapeutic writing.
Through community.
